Well, what a pleasant surprise. I remember back to the V original mini-series and thought I would read this on a whim.
This is an enjoyable book that brings you back to the mini-series in so many ways. I actually went to the internet to place the actor's faces with the characters.
The story picks up the story in present time and where the Earth is now relative to the V invasion/arrival. I won't spoil anything here but the story will capture you and you will be along for the ride once again as the Resistance attempts to overcome the aliens. There is a little bit of everything here - political intrigue, sex, armed warfare, aliens, space ships, acts of heroic courage - what more do you need.

I think this is what Ken Johnson had in mind for a sequel to his mini-series and the book is actually written in some places like a script. He does go into Nazi history and all in the book to give history lessons but all in all good story and better than the sequel movie. I grew up with the series and remember it just seemed a little too easy to beat them, well this story shows us a menace that has been around for 20+ years and the strength that it takes to beat the enemy.
