This was a great mystery and I didn't figure it out until it was revealed. Eddie and Minnie are great fun and I love the way Laurie Cass writes. Some of her expressions are excellent and fun to read along to. Eddie is very much cat. I have one much like him and I just lost one that was even more like him. Cats are fun and great companions. He's a character of the first degree. Talking to cat is not problem for me, I do a lot of it.

Once upon a time, I'd imagined my adulthood would include a bright purple bicycle, a daily dish of ice cream, hair that would do whatever I wanted it to, and lots of books.

Minnie and Eddie are back for more adventures in the bookmobile. They respond to a call for help and take a stroke victim to the hospital. He turns out to be a famous artist and becomes fast friends with Minnie. Minnie (and Eddie) come to the rescue once again when he is accused of murdering a young woman.

I really enjoy the characters in this series. Minnie's Aunt Frances is a hoot in her attempt to play matchmaker with her summer boarders. Minnie's friends Rafe and Kristen are just quirky enough to keep your interest. Her budding relationship with Tucker may be derailed by events beyond her control. And Eddie is a wonderful furry companion.

Minnie's sleuthing of course puts her in danger. Several new characters are introduced that may or may not have connections to the dead woman. A former pro athlete was almost a comic relief with his obsession. (I am trying not to post spoilers but will say if you are Buffy fan that Anya would hate him! :-) "once more with feeling")

A good solid mystery with captivating characters. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A book that combines my favorites - a cat, books, libraries and mystery. A lovely story and a good mystery. The series is off to a great beginning and I can't wait til I read book three and hope there are many more to come.
