If you received a book that had some kind of dried but sticky substance on the book's cover, would you deem it to be "Damaged by Sender"? The sender didn't wrap the book in plastic, just brown kraft paper but the kraft paper was fine, so seems like they wrapped it up that way? Anyway, what say you?

If I thought I could get the 'dried sticky substance' off the cover without damaging the book further I'd let it go. If not, I'd probably do a 'damaged by sender'.  Pat

Yes, Buggy is correct. Goo B Gone and similar products work wonders. I am always surprised how many PBS members try to remove the price stickers from stores but leave the sticky mess behind.  Better to leave the stickers on -- they are not against the postability rules-- and let recipient decide if they want to take off the stickers and clean off any residue.
