Very interesting for those who are into reading about the American Civil War. It is a history book, not a novel. Recognizing it as such, your attention will be held. It is arranged by years 1861-1865. Covers such subjects as The Founder of the Pinkertons, Confederates Buying Arms in Europe, Female Spies, Morgan and Mosby, Torpedoes, Confederate Attack on NYC, CSS Shenandoah - The last of the Confederate Cruisers.

not as I expected some of the stories were interesting but there was more about weaponery than personal stories. Which I prefer.

I haven't read this book. Found it cleaning out my in-laws house.
