This is the life story of Ruth Bell Graham told from the perspective of Patricia Cornwell, novelist famous for her Kay Scarpetta books. It begins with some family history: her grandparents, parents and China in the early 1900's. It follows her to Wheaton College and meeting Billy Graham. The story of their courtship, marriage and children unfold as he becomes a pastor, and ever increasingly an evangelist. Although it tells the story of Billy Graham through the life of Ruth, the focus is more on her: her ministry to her husband, children, family and community members. I finished impressed and challenged by her faith, strength of character, and desire to help others.
