One of the best in this series. Strong, interesting characters, infused with humor. No sex, not much of a plot, but the personalities are wonderful.

Samantha is a precocious, adventurous, loyal young lady of seventeen years, who likes to parade around London as Samuel Smythe-Wright. One such afternoon while wandering around with her sister Izzy they ran into the infamous Zachary St. John. Izzy had a weaker constitution than Sam and the Earl ended up taking care of Izzy because her escort, Mr. Smythe-Wright, abandoned her. Well the Earl was going to take that young man to task and called on Izzy the very next day to learn more about this young man, and was totally surprised to see the same young man their in the drawing room, dressed in a dress, but still just as stubborn, and precocious. Well the Earl announces on his way out that he would meet with her father tomorrow to offer for her hand; she was the most entertaining thing he had run across in many a year, and he wasnt going to let her go. Samantha is furious, and scared to death. She doesnt want to get married, at least not yet, and the Earl is not someone she can control, or probably even get past with her wild antics. It was fun and a great variance on most regencies.
