I really enjoyed this book. I read it before my daughter did. The girl in the story raises carrier pigeons during WWII and her father is away at in Europe. The book has some suspense and could be scary but not too much. My daughter enjoyed it as well.

Pam is the best pigeon raiser in her small town. But having her father off in Europe fighting in World War I is not easy for Pam. When a foriegn stranger has been sneaking around her home, can she find out who's been stealing her birds before it's too late? A great read for middle grade girls, especially those who enjoy mysteries.
