This book is only 129 page long, so it is technically, a quick read. The cover review blurbs describe its contents with such adjectives as 'riveting' 'unforgettable,' 'exquisitely written' and 'genius' etc. The cover also proclaims this book/author as a Finalist for the Pen/Faulkner Award, which I am to understand is a prestigious award.

And yet, having read this book, I remain confused as to the nature of this book's 'greatness,' actually.

I suppose if you like the densely packed stream of consciousness writing style of James Joyce's 'Ulysses' or some such, then maybe this book is for you. But otherwise, I found this book a bit tedious, disjointed and the plotline is somewhat cliched.
