I loved the mixture of cultures - Zimbabwean magic with a dystopian Edinburgh setting just to get started. Excellent character creation. Very likable. A bit past halfway, it got a little too horror trope-ish for me. I love dark fantasy and especially dark urban fantasy...but please don't add a Cthulhu-like gloppy villain. That's just gross.

All in all, a new voice to watch in this field. I'm going to assume her next book will be written with a more assured hand. Finger crossed!
