I love this series and this book was no exception. I didn't laugh as much with this
book as I have with the previous Night Huntress books...I did cry more. I did come to realize one thing though. Bones is the sexiest thing alive...well almost. I can't wait for the next book!

At Grave's End was a great read and The Night Huntress is a truly excellent series. I absolutely love the relationship between Cat and Bones and Bones has quickly become one of my favorite male leads. He's funny, extremely loyal, and violent when it comes to protecting those he loves, especially Cat. I experienced a range of emotions when I was reading this. I wonder what the author is going to do with Tate. He's also a character I really like and I hope he finds happiness. This book is my favorite so far from the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Maybe not quite as much as the previous ones though. Not quite as much humor or romance, but I still plan on buying the next installment. I love the characters and hope Ms. Frost branches out with some of them. If you liked the previous two, don't miss this one.

So often, a series begins to get stale and redundant by the third book. Happily, that doesnt seem to be the case with this series and if this book is any indicator, it wont. My failure to read this book sooner is why there was so much confusion when I read First Drop of Crimson in January. Now that I have rectified that situation, I can happily report that this At Graves End was well worth the wait! I cannot gush enough about how much I love Cat and Bones. As a couple and individually, these two characters sure know how to get the job done.

This story really opens up more of the Night Huntress world that I wasnt aware of. We get to see more about Cats father, Max and what a truly deviated and pitiful excuse of a former human he truly was. We get to see more of Cats mom and there are some interesting twists and surprises with Justina that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. We see one of Cats men, Tate, getting more of a storyline and so far, I am enjoying the triangle his character is trying to create with Cat and Bones. I definitely see potential there for Tate to get his own book.

I know if I decided to leave my current career path and become a vampire slayer, then Cat is the one I would want to mentor and train me. This series and in particular, this book, delivers everything I look for and want in my reading selections. In addition to the intense action and fighting scenes, theres humor and even some very heart wrenching sad moments.

I cant think of one thing in this book that didnt work for me so instead I will say if you havent yet read this series, get off your tush and get started. Youll be glad you did.

Jeaniene Frost is an amazing writer. She had me laughing, crying and wanting to jump into the book and fight. If you have read her other 2 Night Huntress novels you will love this one.

great book!

Of the first three books in the Night Huntress series, this is my least favorite. It felt rushed and the plot doesn't flow very well. I don't know if the author was rushed to write this book by her publisher given the popularity of the two preceding books. There were far too many fights and confusing action sequences in this book, and not enough interaction between Bones and Cat. There were several opportunities where we should have seen them really talk to each other especially after some of the horrific things that happened, but we're deprived of those scenes. Those things probably happen off the pages, but a book is only as good as what is available to the reader and when such information is missing it makes the book weak and disjointed. Discoveries are made, but are not explained to the satisfaction of the reader. There were several scenes where I was longing to hear an explanation from Bones, but alas nothing like that happened. Secondary characters pop up in this story to such an extent it's hard to keep track of them all, but why even bother when some of them are destined for an early grave.

While this isn't my favorite Night Huntress story, I love Cat and Bones with the passion of a thousand suns. Bones is one of my favorite literary characters. What a delicious, romantic master vampire he is. He's one of those characters that make you wish you were the heroine in the story. There are two good romantic scenes between them though nothing like the infamous chapter 32 in the second book. There are some wickedly funny moments involving Bones and Cat's hilarious vampire-hating mother, Justina. Justina's character grows and you get to literally see another side of her. I don't want to give away those funny scenes, but I was laughing so hard. If you're a Night Huntress fan, you have to read this book, but don't expect anything like what's in One Foot In the Grave. This book is far darker in tone and violence than the books that precede it, but it comes with the evolution of the world Frost has created.

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

Book three in this fantastic series will thrill you and leave you begging for more and more. Cat and Bones are trying to stay alive..or undead in Bone's case. A woman from the past is determined to see Bones dead once and for all.

There is more emotion in this book than there was in the past two. The rough edges seem to smooth out for Cat, and Bones is still as sexy and suave as ever. Bringing Justine, Cat's mom, back into the fold seems to bring more unity to the pair. Add in Tate, part of Cat's team, who wants to tear Cat from Bones, and you have some real macho diversity going on.

Throw some ghouls, zombies, and vampires together and you get one sensational mix of characters. I absolutely loved it, and will be looking for the next in this exciting series. Jeaniene Frost is a must-buy for me !

Once again, I loved this book and love the entire series. The author makes the characters so easy to like and doesn't go on and on about anything, just gets on with the story. They are hard to put down.

This is the third book in the Night Huntress series. It was a good addition to the series; not quite as engaging as the first two books but still very well done. This is definitely straight urban fantasy and the fun tension between Cat and Bones is decreased from previous books. I listened to this on audio book and the audio book was well done; in fact I think I enjoyed listening to this more than I would have enjoyed reading it.

It's been a few months since the last book. Cat is continuing to work as bait and Bones is one her vampire hunting team. When Cat's identity is outed she is finally forced to face her father. Shortly after this Mencheres makes Bone's, an offer Bone's can't refuse. Unfortunately it is an offer that places Cat and Bones right in the middle of a vampire war with a very old and mean woman vampire who has a bone to pick with Bones.

This book is a straight urban fantasy. There are a lot of great action scenes and the plot moves along at an excellent clip. We get to learn a lot more about Mecheres and he is an excellent character. We also meet Vlad, yep the original Dracula, and he was another great character that hits it off with Cat surprisingly well.

While the plot, action, and character additions were all great there was something missing in this book. Cat and Bones don't have that heat and wittiness that they had in the previous two books. They both seemed in love but tired. I didn't find myself laughing out loud as much with this book; I didn't find myself absolutely enrapt by their interactions. There are a couple sex scenes but they are boring, quick, and relatively emotionless.

Bones and Cat do have to face huge obstacles to their relationship. I enjoyed that they were mature with each other and made responsible decisions; they make a wonderful couple. I was disappointed though that they didn't display the enormous love coupled with lust for each other that they did in the previous two books. Let's face it these two pretty much make this series and without their witty banter things aren't nearly as entertaining and exciting. There is still some humor in the story; it is just not as present between Bones and Cat as it was in the first two books.

Tate features quite a lot in this book. He makes a play for Cat in a big way. This was entertaining, but at the same time I couldn't help feeling that he came across as a bit pathetic...I felt a bit sorry for him. The scene where they fight the Grave was absolutely fantastic action-wise; just a great epic battle-type scene. I love zombies and loved their inclusion in this book :-)

All that being said the book ends well, the story is progressed well, and it is a decent urban fantasy read.

Overall this isn't my favorite book in the series. The plot, action, and new characters added are great. The witty banter and heat between Cat and Bones is significantly decreased; and I felt its absence profoundly. I will definitely read book 4, Destined for an Early Grave, but if it follows the path of this book I may not read anymore of this series.

There is always a lot going on in Cat's life and Bones is never far from her side and yet she is still kidnapped by her hated vampire father. On another front, someone from Bones' past returns with deadly intent. This is a roller-coaster ride of emotions for both Cat and Bones. I enjoyed this installment and anxiously await the next.

The third installment of the Night Huntress series is by far my favorite of the series to date. Newly reunited, Cat and Bones's resolve and relationship is pushed to the breaking point by circumstances. It was wonderful and I've read it at least 4 or 5 times already.

I love this series and Cat and Bones. There is a gripping torture scene at the beginning of the book and several events that reinforce the love story. That said, this is the weakest of the series. I am re-reading them all and I found myself wishing this one would hurry along. I did like the introduction of Vlad and while I am not loving the Night Huntress World books AT ALL, if Frost writes one featuring Vlad, I will certainly buy a copy!

I just love this series...this book is just as good or even better than the 2 previous ones.....The book starts out with action pretty much fron the start and keeps you from wanting to put it down. Cat and Bones are working for her Uncle Don at homeland Security Killing rogue vampires...things go down hill when her father shows up trying to kill her and claiming he is being backed by a powerful vampire. They go into hiding while trying to figure out what is going on...I don't want to give away any spoilers if you haven't read it so you have to read this book! LOL

Cat Crawfield and her mother are attacked by her father, claiming that he has been sent by a powerful vampire to kill her. Soon Cat and Bones are sorting through lies, trying to find out who wants them dead.

Another great addition to the Night Huntress series. Even though there isn't as much romance or humor as the previous books, this is still a great read. Characters from the previous books are back, in addition to a new nemesis. I can't wait to read the next book! My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead husband Bones are now working in tandem to rid the world of undesirable vampires. Bones is now a Master Vampire on his own, without allegiance to another, and responsible for all in his line. He accepts an offer from his grandsire Mencheres to a permanent alliance, which gives him some of his power. But an old and powerful vampire is trying to kill both Bones and Cat, and harnessing black magic forbidden to vampires to do it, and even their combined might may not be enough to stop her.

Frost steps up the action in this third volume of the series, and changes the character dynamics when Dave is turned into a ghoul and Tate is turned into a vampire. While the action was entertaining, I found myself getting a little bored and impatient with the endless iterations of undying love between our heroes, and the gratuitous sex scenes which admittedly were short enough to be tolerable. Cat's stubbornness and jealousy at times also became a little trying, but it's obviously an attempt to keep the heroine from becoming too perfect, especially as her fighting prowess stretches credulity more and more. But the book moves along at a smart pace, and is easy to go through like candy.

The Night Huntress series continues to pick up speed in its third installment, At Grave's End. Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her 250-year-old vampire boyfriend, Bones, have made a commitment to be together no matter how many obstacles are in their way. Despite the hatred of Cat's mother, the disapproval of her boss and team members and the natural difficulties of being in love with a Master Vampire, Cat is happier than she's ever been.

Typically, that happiness is short-lived when Cat's mother taken by one of her greatest enemies. That threat begins a domino effect of troubles that seem to stem from the mysterious Menenches, an ageless and ancient Egyptian vampire who is Bones' grandsire and co-master of his line. Soon, Bones' life is in danger and everyone Cat loves is next. A new enemy is revealed with an unthinkable and insatiable army, and Cat is left to -- what else? Save the world.

New characters such as Menenches and the infamous and chuckle-worthy Vlad breathe new life into the story. I really loved the kitchy addition of Vlad, and hope to see more of him in future novels. In addition to these new players, old favorites are back and returning characters from other novels also return in enhanced roles (and in come cases, different forms.) Frost is masterful at creating realistic, humorous banter in the midst of surreal fantasy situations. That's one of the "it factors" that makes her books so special and so readable in a sea of other, similar material in the paranormal romance/urban fantasy genre.

Predictably, I can't wait to devour the next book, Destined for an Early Grave.

I could not get past the fourth chapter. This is my first time reading a Jeaniene Frost book but I thought it would not make a difference. Well it did, I was so lost. All I knew was that Bones is Cat's boyfriend and she's a half vampire. It does not give a brief synopsis of who they got together, why she left him and came back. Bone's and Cat seemed like the oddest couple. I did not feel a connection between them at all. To me all she cared about was killing and then all of a sudden Max comes in the picture who is her father. I stopped reading it when it got to her and Max fighting. It made no sense. Maybe I do need to read them in order. I recommend reading the first one to hopefully understand the story.

Another great installment from Jeanine Frost. Cat has found that someone is after her, and Bones. They go for her mother first and then she comes to the house to find Max, her vampire father at the house holding Justine her mom, hostage.
Her father tries to kill her, but Bones comes along right at the nick of time and saves the day.
Who dispached Max, and why?
They start untangling the lies and deceptions within the vampire community and find it is closer to home than they think.

I didn't read this series in order and I don't think it's necessary. It helps though.

I think this is one of the best books in the series. It was fast paced, funny, and had some very touching moments. I even got to like Cat's mother. I could definitely see where Cat got most of her personality.

Great read.
