I save about $10 a month by unplugging the "energy vampires"  when not in use.  That includes the computers, printers, microwave, and stereo.  I can use the $120 per year  with a lot more creativity than the electric company.

I also try to do this as much as possible. I am also more creative with my extra money than the electric company.

I have worked for the power company for 14 years now.  Although most companies have quit the pratice, try calling the customer service and asking if they offer "time-of-use".  This a totally different pay/power useage structure than normal, and most don't advertise or promote it anymore.  You can save quite a bit if you can adhere to it.

As always, avoid using the biggie's as much as possible.   1. HVAC  2. Hot water heater  3.  Clothes dryer (washer is not a giant concern)  These are the vast majority of your electric bill.    Any questions, just ask.
