This is an amazing book; it explained the beginnings of the Cosa Nostra in Sicily and its metamorphosis in the United States. The author was very clear about what brought the dangerous group to grow and prosper. It is hard to imagine what society would spawn such a violent group. The book also talked about the difficult time Italian and US law enforcement have had trying to curb their strength and influence.
