"Changes" was a fun book to read. The difficulties of two people finding love after suffering heartbreaks was touching. Ms. Steel made the conflicts that both felt seem real. The characters were well thought out and remained true to themselves. I would really love a sequel to see how everything turns out.

Melanie Adams is a woman who seems to have it all: a hugely successful career as TV documentary producer, twin teenage daughters, and a life-style that is at once glamorous and also fits the complex life of a working single mother.
Melanie has tailored this life to fit all her needs save one: nowhere is the pocket in which the man of her dreams can fit-for Melanie has learned the hard way that love takes a special kind of courage, and with all her guts and all her spirit, love is something she has chosen to ignore.
Until, that is, she meets Petr Hallam-the internationally famous heart surgeon, a widower with children whose lives have been seriously disrupted since the recent death of their mother.
The coming together of Melanie and Peter is the story of love everywhere these days-two people struggling not to eclipse each other, but to fulfill themselves and each other.
This poignant and perceptive novel overflows with the whold rainbow of human emotions, those of Peter and Melanie as well as those of their children. It is destined to touch Danielle Steel's millions of readers to their heart's core.
