I LOVE THIS BOOK!
It left me with a warm and cozy feeling. Not the traditional read for me, but I enjoyed that differences in the books I usual read. For example; we dont hear the male perspective, first adjective to come to mind for female leading character is Quirky, no description of sexual activities and contains a small town of easy to keep track of supporting characters. I seriously would watch this on say Lifetime or Hallmark.

This is another hit from Krisan Higgins. I just recently discovered her and had to read all her books. Her stories are about normal women, not perfect or extremely beautiful creatures. She makes me laugh out loud with all their escapades. I highly recommend this book and this author. Can't wait for her next book to come out.

I had to take a second look at the author's name! This felt like one of Janet Evanovich'S novel. This book will make you laugh out loud, and it will also make you cry.

Kristan Higgins is now on my "Have to Buy" list. This book had a great story, great characters and made me smile and cry. There are only a few authors out there that can make me laugh out loud and cry in the same book and she is one of them.

The only drawback - I want to know what happens to everyone after the ending especially Jonah and Maggie and Malone.

Great Book!

Second book I have read by this author and it did not disapoint. Book is fun and the main character is always saying or doing something to embarrass herself! Cute! Ordering another of her books today!

This one is great! I won't go into details because you guys have received enough reviews that have the summary already outlined. I'll keep it simple and honest for you :)

Oddly enough, there were a lot of similarities to my own life because of the somewhat lonely life I led prior to marrying my own "Malone", who's character closely defines my own husband. I laughed, I cried and had myself wishing I lived in a small town running a cafe and creating my own special dishes that people would remember me by. :)

I loved that she was involved with the community and everyone was a part of her extended family, acting as a family should....with love, lots of humor and happy endings during tough times.

This book is a great read for an afternoon of lying back in the Lazy-Girl chair, a cup of hot chocolate with a touch of Amaretto and some homemade cookies to go along with the homemade goodness of this book. You won't regret reading it :)

Frankly, when I hit page 90 and the hero is little more than a shadow and the heroine is still mooning over the priest, I was so depressed I wanted to have a good long general-purpose cry. Ms. Higgins needs to learn something about story structure so she can tell when it's time to give the story a little gas and get it moving. So... not only depressing but boring.

I've read a few by this author and none of them stood out in a field of mostly trying-too-hard contemporary romantic comedies.

I'm done with this author.

This was a pretty good book. Loved her style of writing from the heroine's perspective. If you are looking for a steamy or even any love scenes, you are out of luck. However the story was good and I wish it would have continued.

Ms. Higgins is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the quirkiness of her characters, their deep family ties and the emotions that flow throughout. Maggie becomes something of a joke to the locals when she falls (HARD) for the new priest. Her life revolves around her diner, her family and volunteering for the church. Enter Malone. A local lobsterman with few social skills until he saves her from an awkward meeting with her ex and his trophy wife. An excellent afternoon read! 4 stars

By far my most favorite of her books. I bought it a second time to reread it again. Something about it draws me. I want a Malone.

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This is a fairly unpredictable read. Grab your tissues because at one point I cried (pretty hard, I might add). Enjoyed it, didn't want to put it down. Fixin to order another by Kristan Higgins. I'd definitely recommend this one!

This is one of my favorite books of all time. Great storyline, great characters- you feel as though you are right there in the story with them. Very funny, lighthearted read, yet it strikes an emotional chord as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS BOOK!!!

I really liked this book. It was funny and the author made you feel like you were right there along side Maggie and Malone. It's very rare that an author's writing makes me actually feel the emotions in the book, but this was one of those books. I definitely recommend this book!

This is a quick, easy read. This is also a very drawn out romance. I didn't understand the connection between the two. Heck, until the final chapter, she didn't even know his first name!

The hero is one of those strong and silent types. Emphasis on the silent. He's not much of a talker. He mostly says 1-2 words max. Emphasis also on surly. It's overdone. The author must have mentioned his angry tendencies about twenty times. I get it. Don't hit me over the head with it. I didn't understand what the heroine saw in him or what he saw in her. Their connection happens too fast for it to be believable. His character needed to be developed a lot more.

The storyline in Catch of the Day repeats itself so many times. The story needed to move along with more focus on the hero and heroine. Much of the story revolves around the heroine's married twin sister, a very handsome Catholic priest, and her parents. All them are interesting, but focusing on them so much takes away from the heroine and hero's relationship. The heroine is annoyingly immature. She can't stand up for herself. You'd think she was nineteen years old when in fact she's in her 30s. I understand in these chick lit type books the heroine often embarrasses herself, but this heroine was incredible at it.

Oh, but this was a joy. A standout among Kristan Higgins romances, all of which are arguably charming. But CATCH OF THE DAY just has a little something extra in it. It's hard to pinpoint what, exactly. Is it the setting of Gideon's Cove, which celebrates the eccentricities and tight-knitted community that has been romanticized about American small town culture for forever? Is it Malone and Maggie's atypical romance, which initially smolders, unbeknownst to all, and all of a sudden catches fire? Whatever it is, it carries this whole story so well. I can't wait to return to Gideon's Cove someday.

Another great read by Kristan Higgins. I would recommend reading this one first and then The Next Best Thing and then Somebody to Love. I didn't realize these were related and I read them backwards, but loved the town and characters so much I had to go back and read the others. I love this author - I giggle out loud at times and usually have some tears in more than one part of the story. Malone was a tough character to like though for me - he just didn't give Maggie much to grasp onto and I kinda resented him for that. He did come through in the long run, but did he have to be so gruff about it all? I can't wait to read the rest of this author's books and I hope she writes more about Gideon's Cove.

Awesome book, as usual. Makes you laugh, then cry, then smile again.
