The case is the death of a child and Sloane wins a malpractice suit against the doctor. Then a fly gets in the ointment - a man approaches him giving him information to make a case for the manufacturer of the toy causing the death to be the culprit. Bad materials to cut cost causing the toy to break and release tiny but strong magnets. Two children of families testing the toy have died. Dugoni gets his win put aside and reopens the case - The case he wins, but his life is in shambles. This book had all the feels! Robert Dugoni is a masterful storyteller.
The way he brings the suspense and yet keeps the humanity of the hero's from going to the dark side when events keep pulling them towards the darkness makes for powerful plots. He has a way of making you feel so invested in the characters.
The bad guy in this book as a surprise to me. I was surprised but their motivation was so twisted anyone would have been hard pressed to have guessed them responsible for the Bodily Harm in this book.
So far each book in the David Sloane series is better than one before. A rare 5 stars from me.
